FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Medical practices as commercial operators of drinking water systems must ensure water quality compliance under TrinkwV. For hot water systems exceeding 400 liters or pipe contents over 3 liters, regular Legionella testing by an accredited lab is mandatory. We coordinate these tests and prepare required documentation for the health department.

For medical practices subject to TrinkwV (hot water system > 400 l or pipe volume > 3 l), the Federal Environment Agency recommends annual Legionella testing. Higher testing frequency may be necessary if findings are unusual. We remind you of upcoming test deadlines and coordinate the entire process from sampling to lab reporting and documentation.

For treatment rooms we recommend air-conditioning systems with HEPA filtration that provide draft-free operation and efficiently clean room air. For small rooms up to about 25 m² quiet split air conditioners are suitable. For larger treatment areas we plan decentralized ventilation units providing cooling, heating and fresh air supply. All systems are planned per current RKI hygiene guidelines.

Yes, we offer medical practices flexible scheduling outside consultation hours – early mornings, evenings or weekends. This ensures your practice operation is not interrupted and patients are not affected. For emergencies like water pipe rupture or heating failure, our 24/7 emergency service is available.

Costs for a drinking water inspection in a medical practice depend on system size and number of tap points. Typically, inspection costs (excluding lab fees) range from 200 to 500 €. Laboratory costs for Legionella analysis come separately at approximately 30–80 € per sample. We provide a transparent estimate for complete hygiene inspection including documentation.

For health department inspections we create complete maintenance protocols, Legionella test reports and measure summaries. This includes plans of the drinking water installation, hot water temperature records and disinfection measure documentation plus evidence of regular maintenance. All documents are digitally archived and readily available when needed.

If the technical measure value of 100 CFU/100 ml is exceeded, immediate remediation measures must be initiated. We analyze the cause (usually thermal shortfall, stagnation or old pipes), recommend immediate measures (e.g. thermal disinfection) and long-term remediation measures. You are responsible for reporting to the health department – we support you with technical documentation.

Yes, we have experience with drinking water requirements of dental practices operating dental units. Dental units place special demands on water quality and have their own hygiene protocols. We coordinate regular testing and disinfection of water lines in dental units and create documentation required for dental chamber hygiene inspections.
